Thank you for taking the time to find out how we can help your child. This program may not be for your child if you are looking for your child to break slabs of concrete or fly over a car with a kick. However, if you are the type of parent who is concerned about your child’s self-esteem, self-confidence, self-discipline, concentration or fitness then you have found the right program.
We believe strongly that through our mission of providing a great system of character education, physical fitness and self-defense, we can help parents develop confident children one kick, one block and punch at a time. Basically, the goal of our program is to bring out the best in all of our students not just in the martial arts, but at home and in school
We have an in dept Life Skills and Character Education Program called S.T.A.R. (Success Through Accepting Responsibility) incorporated into our curriculum. The S.T.A.R. Program was developed by the Jefferson Center for Character Education based out of Pasadena, California. The S.T.A.R. program is used by 5,000 academic school systems in the country. We are one of a few martial arts schools using this program!
"I think this is the best thing for her. Her confidence level is has improved so much.” Deborah Jones
We pride ourselves on improving our
students self image through positive reinforcement. As a parent you
will see that for every physical movement there is a mental lesson.
Our main emphasis will be on the mental lessons of: Respect, Focus,
Confidence, Perseverance, Positive Attitude, Self-Control and
Self-Discipline.
Many parents are concerned about their
children spending too much time watching TV or playing video games.
Through motivation, exciting classes, and positive award based
reinforcement, we keep your child focused on improving by instilling a
deep desire to want to become better.
Bad habits are easy to form, but hard to live with. Good habits are hard to form, but easy to live with.” At Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy we will team up with you to help your child develop good habits that will last a lifetime: habits of taking care of their body, their belongings, as well as their school work. You will be amazed when your child learns the 3 Rules of Concentration in order to listen and learn in school. You will smile when your child learns the 5 Steps to Academic Excellence.
"Since he's been coming here, he’s demonstrated a level of maturity which I did not expect. He’s transformed so much. He’s concerned about others’ well being.” Maxant Saint Louis.
Safety is always a big concern for parents considering any physical activity for their child. Our instructors always make class safety a priority. Our martial arts curriculum is taught in a safe manner where students eliminate the potential of injury.
We have 2 inch thick mats on the floor where most schools have
carpet or wood. Here are photos from our training floor and parent’s viewing area. The color schemes are designed to keep our younger students excited and energized while training. Quite often our younger students do not want to leave the training floor.
“I highly recommend this school: My son is 9 and a purple belt at this school. The classes have helped my son to do better in school and at home. They work closely with the child's parents and teachers to make sure the students are progressing mentally and physically. He improved so much I had my 12-year-old daughter and her best friend start taking classes in the teen/adult class. After watching a couple of my daughter’s classes I decided to join myself and it wasn't long thereafter and my wife joined the class. I can't wait for my two year old daughter to be old enough to attend this school. I highly recommend this school for anyone young or old.” Ed Kenney
A big concern in today’s schools is dealing with bullies. Your child will become physically fit and learn strategic ways of dealing with bullies without allowing a situation to escalate into a fight. Your child will learn the 12 ways to defeat a bully without fighting as well as the 5 Rules of Personal Safety. Our program will help your child develop a level of confidence and improved self image that communicates to others that your child is a friendly person, but not one to be pushed around.
At Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy, we realize that you are also concerned about your child’s safety from abduction. Unfortunately, this is a growing concern in today’s world! We have incorporated child abduction safety into our curriculum. Your child will learn to recognize the 10 most common lures used against children, and more importantly, your child will learn how to avoid them!
As you can tell we are not your average martial arts school. We take pride in helping your child perform better in school, stay fit and stay safe. But definitely don’t take our word for it! See for yourself why we are confident our program will help your child. Call the school at (781)961-4525 to take advantage of our 2 lesson trial course for only $14.95.
Boston Tae Kwon Do martial arts curriculum is designed to improve your child’s flexibility, muscle tone, strength and enthusiasm for physical fitness. We will assist your child in developing overall muscle control and coordination. Unlike, most team sports, your child will not sit on the bench. Your child will learn to participate with enthusiasm, energy and spirit.
“Joe gets a great benefit from this activity. He likes it very much. It is the most positive reinforcement for children of any activity that I’ve observed and I’m also a Scout Leader. Keep up the great work.” Charles T. Sweeney
Student Creed:
1. I will develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that would reduce my mental growth or my physical health.
2. I will develop self discipline in order to bring out best in myself and others.
3. I will use what I learn in class constructively and defensively to help myself and others and never to be abusive or offensive.
4. We are a Black Belt school, we are dedicated, we are motivated, we are on a quest to be our best!
Parents' Creed:
At Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy, we have creeds that
we must follow to ensure the success and growth of your child. The
students have a creed they must learn. The instructors have an
Instructor’s Creed to follow as well. Great parents do their best to
follow the tenets of the Parent’s Creed to make sure we are all working
as a team with the same goal in mind—making life champions of our
students.
1. I will keep my child’s self-esteem in mind at all times and
continually work to build it to new and higher levels. I will not
compare my child with others or their past, but focus on my child’s
strengths and make sure he/she is giving his/her personal best.
2. I will set examples of excellence and realize that I am the most
important factor to my child’s performance. Therefore I will take
consistent action and be a role model when it comes to important
qualities that I want my child to develop (Self Control, Positive
Attitude, Self Discipline, and Respect).
3. I will use positive reinforcement when working with my child and
never do anything towards them out of anger or frustration, but rather
out of love and patience.
4. I will help my child achieve black belt excellence and develop black
belt qualities-realizing that the benefits are important. I will not
give up on him or her and I will do my part to ensure that my child is
dedicated, motivated and on a quest to be his or her best because I am
as well!!!
